Year end is always busy for most people i guess. D&D, Xmas parties, New Year celebrations (not to mention stock takes, year end closing blah blah blah...LOL). We'll be having our D&D on 22 Dec @ Swissotel and i really hope that luck is with me again this year as I won the 1st prize (Canon digital cam) last year keke! Wish me LUCK!

We are planning for a short getaway to Krabi in Jan and looking forward to that! I need a break and hope that Yr07 will be a good year for me since i fall sick easily this year and not much career advancement as well :(

In the midist of typing this, our secretary has just send out an email on Xmas lunch buffet (peranakan cuisine by Chilli Padi) on 21 Dec haha! So many events going on and i simply LOVE year end!! Hooray~

Time for a story....

Once upon a time, there was a very strong man. He asked for a job from a timber merchant and he got it. The pay was really good and so were the work conditions. For that reason, the man was determined to do his best. His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he is supposed to work. The first day, he brought down 18 trees. The Boss was very much impressed and said, "Congratulations Go on that way!

Very motivated by the words of the boss, he tried harder the next day, but only could bring down 15 trees. The third day he tried even harder, but he could only bring down 10 trees. Day after day he was bringing down less and less trees. "I must be losing my strength", he thought to himself. He went to the Boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on. "When was the last time you sharpened your axe?" the boss asked. "Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been busy cutting trees.

The moral of this story:

Our lives are like that. We sometimes get so busy that we don't take time to sharpen the axe. In today's world, it seems that everyone is busier than ever, but less happy than ever. Why is that so? Could it be that we have forgotten how to stay sharp? There's nothing wrong with activities and hard work. But we should not get so busy and neglect the truly important things in life, like our personal life, taking time to care for others, taking time to read etc. We all need time to relax, to think and meditate, to learn and grow. If you don't take the time to sharpen the axe, we will become dull and lose our effectiveness. So, start from today, think about the ways by which you could do your job more effectively and add a lot more values to it.

Hope this story has given you some insight to life, may you be happy always!

Sick sick sick

Initially was a slight sore throat as a result of a packet of Lays but after the spicy wanton noodle on sat morning, my throat was infected i guess. Subsequently that evening, headache striked me and it was so terrible that i vomitted like a merlion!! No joke. Threw everything out, including the wanton noodle, and for the first time i had a taste of my stomach acid since i didn't have my lunch. My friend wanted me to have some food but i just couldn't eat...What goes in will come out instantly. Gosh! I hate it whenever i have headache especially during weekends! I rested at home today and slept all the way :p But still, my throat itches and i'm coughing non stop now :s Hopefully i will recover tmr and go back to work.

Good Health is really important. Without it, one can never achieve anything in life, no matter how much fortune you possess since humans are so vulnerable...Take care everyone :)

Dilemma

Human beings can really be complex animals. Guess that the purest stage in life will have to be when we are still babies- "Ren zi chu, xing ben san". No worries, no evil thoughts, just simple, plain simple...But we can't remain that forever unless you don't wish to grow up (which is IMPOSSIBLE).

Have you ever wonder why there are times when we say one thing but in actual fact we meant another? Wish for something but more than often hope that it won't happen? Want some changes in life yet sit back and wait for things to happen? Sometimes i wish i can be simpler. Mean what i say, do what i want, just be myself and stay happy always. Well, reality prohibits such 'luxury' to happen to me and i believe no man is tougher without having their edges sharpened by this society. See!! Complexity...Sigh :(

Have been searching for a marketing post recently and i guess i was kind of lucky to be given two interviews to attend this week. Was quite delighted initially but after some ponders, i started to have second thought..."Why am i given this opportunity since i have no experience? If i'm selected, will i regret leaving my comfort zone? Do i really want a change in my career?......" Endless questions started to pour in and that sort of frightens me. I turned down the first one and still struggling to convince myself to try for the second one...Well, thinking thinking :(
